What is Solid Surface?
Solid surface is a man-made material consisting of natural minerals, pure acrylic polymer and natural pigments that combine to create a smooth, non porous, thermoformable and seamless surface.
The seamless joints are a key feature of Solid Surface, discouraging dirt traps and providing you with amazing design flexibility for a range of horizontal & vertical surface applications.
Solid surface comes in a huge range of colours – from bright, bold saturated solids to earthy stone colours and cool pastels to industrial concretes.
Translucent colours are available perfect for back lighting. Sheets come in different thicknesses and can be engraved with intricate designs using our CNC machine giving designers huge scope for experimentation.
Solid Surface has extraordinary thermoforming capabilities. Flexible when heated, solid surface can be formed into almost any shape or moulded to create raised textures and patterns on the surface.
Increasingly, solid surface is being used outdoors for furniture and cladding. It is resistant to environmental factors such as pollution, humidity and freeze-thaw conditions. Many colours have exceptional colour stability.
Solid surface has a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed with a Scotchbrite® pad and household cleaner. Like all materials, solid surface will scratch but the beauty of this material is that worn surfaces can easily be sanded and buffed smooth again.
