This was a challenging project but one we relished. The client wanted their product – a pyramid shaped acoustic panel used in home cinemas -manufactured from solid surface.

After a huge amount of research and experimentation we finally cracked it and showed that we could push the material way beyond the manufacturers recommendations.

Solid Surface

The panels had to have the appropriate fire rating. LG Hi-Macs was specified for this purpose.

Thermoforming

Moulds were made from CNC’d aluminium billet. The LG Hi-Macs was heated to the correct temperature and then formed using our Global Hydraulic Press.
